About this place
Tucked into Mibubabacho just off the Sanjo-kai shopping arcade, Kanasutota offers an easygoing izakaya setting where guests can settle in for drinks and a satisfying meal. Run by a welcoming husband-and-wife duo whose friendly hospitality earns frequent praise, the space feels instantly comfortable, whether you are stopping by for a solo dinner or raising a glass with friends.
Among the dishes on offer, the filling omurice is a standout that routinely wins over diners. The menu covers plenty of classic izakaya cooking, headlined by aromatic griddled dishes such as hearty teppan beef offal, teppan offal with kimchi, and loaded teppan yakisoba. Nibbles like an assorted satsuma-age fish cake platter and staple fried chicken sit alongside comforting meal-enders, including silky Goto udon and fried rice vermicelli.
For drinks, the bar pours a curated range of sake, Mars whisky highballs, and refreshing fruit liqueurs flavoured with bankan citrus or kabosu. Lunchtime shifts toward set meals spotlighting pork ginger or chicken cutlets, with the option to linger over an afternoon cake set. Note that payment is strictly cash only, so it helps to have yen on hand before dropping by.
